Registration Process

How Do I Become a Host? – Registration Process

At Good Homestay we have set up 4 step process to join our network.

STEP
Express your interest through Online Application Form.

Once we review your Online Application Form, we will send you a registration form (this is different from the one on our website) and a homestay guideline. After completing this form, we will contact you again to arrange a house visit.

STEP
House Visit

A member of our team will visit you for an interview to discuss your interest in becoming a registered host family and help you to solve the concern about hosting international students. Please be aware that during this visit, we will take photos of your home and family to create a host profile.

STEP
Reference Checks

Before confirming any placements, we require reference checks for all adults who are 18 years of age or over in the home or staying over at home regularly. The method of reference checks varies by regions:

  • New Zealand: Police Vetting
  • Australia: Obtaining or holding a currently valid Working With Children Check (WWCC)

Please note that all costs associated with obtaining WWCC are covered by the host family. If you do not currently hold a valid WWCC, we recommend obtaining WWCC only after we approve your host registration to avoid unnecessary costs in case your application is unsuccessful.

STEP
Wait for a Match

Congratulations!

We are delighted for you to join our Good Homestay network. We will contact the matching host families about the new student approximately 8 weeks prior to the student’s arrival with the student profile. This includes information about their gender, nationality, age, dietary requirements, smoker/non-smoker any health concerns and homestay start and end dates.
